To have effective hemorrhoids treatment you have to understand a little about hemorrhoids and what they are. Hemorrhoids sometimes known as piles and contrary to popular opinion are not varicose veins. They are simply soft pads that have slipped downwards slightly because the surrounding tissue is not or cannot hold it in place properly.
When this happens, the small blood vessels within the pads fill with blood so when the pad swells up and stools are passed painful and/or discomfort is often the result.
Quite often the treatment is dependent on whether the hemorrhoid is internal or external. Internal piles are located further up the anal passage and produce the most common symptom of bleeding. The other form of hemorrhoid is the external hemorrhoid. This is located external to the anus. A person can suffer from both types.
Now that we have a bit of understanding what we may be dealing with the first thing is to relieve the symptoms while we look for a cure. One of the most suitable treatments initially is to have daily warm baths (not too hot as this can aggravate the piles).
The next treatment is using hemorrhoid creams. These can be very effective but it is always a good idea to test it on your skin first to see if you have any allergies otherwise the cream/lotion will make things a lot worse!
If after these few simple procedures you are now starting to get relief you should at least look at some potential causes. For example your diet. Are you getting enough fibre? If not then obviously increase your intake. What about your stools? Are they solid and hard to pass? If so drink more fluids. Piles are often caused by constipation so this is important.
Unfortunately for many sufferers the hemorrhoids treatment will involve surgery as the condition is too serious to be treated any other way. The two most common types are removal by literally cutting off the pile or using laser treatment to 'burn' it off. The laser treatment seems to be the least invasive and allows for quicker recovery but is more expensive.
Having gone through some of the hemorrhoid treatments available try the home remedies first, see if they give you any relief. However you should act as soon as possible as the condition can worsen.
If you are still suffering after trying some of these methods then you should seek medical advice. Thankfully most hemorrhoid cases are simple and non-life threatening. They can also be cured easily and fast.
